This project included about a hundred short clips in which I performed various hand gestures while wearing a pair of work gloves printed with an American Flag pattern. Purchased at a “big box store” during an early post-9/11 rush of newly patriotic items, the gloves lent a new layer of significance to any gesture. A programmed DVD played back the clips in random order for gallery display, creating sequences of varying degrees of confrontation, invitation, or confusion.
